About Me I am a mother of 5 children (2 sets of twins) and have learned as much from them about life as they have learned from me. I also have 3 dogs which have been all donated by 3 of my children. I have been married to Don for 23 years. On my days off, I love to garden, spend time with family, and bake. My favorite author is Eric Carle and I love to read poetry. Being a native of Colorado, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

My classroom goals: |
I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to work at Cherrelyn for the 6 years. This will be my 4th year as a 4th grade teacher. My goals for my students include becoming independent learners and advocates for their learning. We work together throughout the school year to learn strategies that enable everyone to problem solve social, emotional, and academic situations to increase self-confidence in all of those areas. My students learn from day one my goal for our classroom, which is that everyone who enters the room feels safe and respected so learning can happen. Open communication with families, is something I strive for because I recognize that a parent is a child's first teacher and their input is integral to their child having a successful school year. Thank you for allowing me to be your child's teacher and I look forward to a fabulous year of learning.

STEM |
I am excited to be apart of the new learning experience at Cherrelyn. The STEM skills obtained can be a catalyst to discovering an interest in a number of careers. Students become connected to their community through researching problems and creating solutions. Through this connection, students are able to think outside their own world and discover a world in which they can truly can make a change. The journey through STEM education, students can rise to challenges and become critical thinkers and most importantly effective problem solvers.
